COME CELEBRATE A MILESTONE WITH US!

    EmX began serving Eugene-Springfield in 2007, and we are excited to announce that EmX will carry its 10 millionth customer this month. No, it’s not the billions and billions served by McDonalds, but it is a big milestone for our community, and we want you to celebrate with us!
    On Saturday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., LTD will host our 10 Millionth Rider Celebration at the Springfield Station on South A Street at Pioneer Parkway East. Stop by and learn more about LTD and EmX. There will be refreshments, a transportation fair, and a drawing for a new bicycle provided by Hutch’s Bicycles of Springfield.
    At noon we will recognize the ten winners of the 10-10-10 contest. Ten lucky winners will be selected, one winner every day for 10 days, to represent LTD’s 10 millionth rider. The first winner will be selected on Thursday, May 24, so be sure to sign-up. (Only one entry per person, please.)
    Each winner will receive a prize package that includes a gift certificate for a three-month bus pass; a one-month membership to the WeCar carsharing program; an EmX umbrella and pen; a SmartTrips umbrella, water bottle, and bag; and more!

WEST EUGENE EmX SURVEY RESULTS

In February, LTD commissioned an in-depth survey of opinions on transportation in general and the West Eugene EmX project. The results show that a slight majority support the project; they also provide insight on the reasons people support and oppose the project, including 81% who believe traffic congestion in West Eugene is a top transportation priority.

HEARING ON FARE CHANGES

The Lane Transit District Board of Directors will hold the second and final public hearing on a proposal under consideration that could affect passenger fares.

When: 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012
Where: Eugene Public Library, Bascom-Tykeson Rm.

LTD is evaluating the following increases:

• Adult: Cash–25¢; Day Pass–50¢
• Youth/Half-fare: Cash–10¢
Day Pass–25¢
• Group Pass rate: 5.8%
• RideSource: 50¢

The last cash fare increase was in July 2008.

WeCAR CARSHARING NOW AVAILABLE TO ALL!

LTD and the Cities of Eugene and Springfield are happy to announce the launch of WeCar, a membership-based carsharing program. Until now, WeCar was only available to UO students, but the program is now open to people seeking an alternative to car ownership without the expense or hassle. For more information, click here.
