Lane Transit District‘s (LTD) Board of Directors have agreed to postpone its review of the Transit Tomorrow project until later in the year.

“The LTD Board of Directors is focused on safeguarding our community through this pandemic while providing transportation to those who need to make essential trips,” said Carl Yeh, President of the LTD Board of Directors.  “As this is our priority in the current reality, the Board agreed to postpone our work with Transit Tomorrow until the public has an opportunity to participate in a meaningful way.”

The LTD Board was scheduled to hear a staff presentation about the next iteration of the Transit Tomorrow proposal at its April 15, 2020, meeting. A public hearing about the proposal was set for the District’s May board meeting with a vote on the proposal expected as early as this summer.

Yeh said, “The Board will revisit the Transit Tomorrow process and timeline before fall” and that he “looks forward to continuing the process of redeploying LTD’s resources to match the modern needs of the District.”

Information about Transit Tomorrow is at https://transittomorrow.org/#about.

In addition, Yeh announced that during the pandemic the Board of Directors will have weekly public meetings on Wednesdays, including its regularly scheduled monthly meeting, at 5:30 pm via Zoom to address the changing needs of the District.

“COVID-19 is a dynamic situation. It requires LTD to be ready, proactive, and reactive,“ Yeh said. “For the Board and the public to stay informed and to perform essential transit business and meet the District’s needs, we will be meeting on a weekly basis.”

Meeting schedule and information can be found at www.LTD.org.
