Performance Management Reboot

LTD's updated and improved Performance Management System is rolling out to make it easier for employees and supervisors to collaborate on performance evaluations throughout the year. The goals of the updated system are to:

  • Promote equity between employees and departments
  • Make expectations and evaluations clear, painless, and flexible
  • Simplify forms for less dread and more connection
  • Discuss performance continually by having “touch points” throughout the year
  • Provide opportunities for employee development and growth
  • Align employee performance and goals with LTD's Mission, Vision, and Values

March 31 Update: Process Document and Admin Assessment Form

The updated performance management system will officially launch on July 1, 2023 for all employees. While the timeline for all employees will be the same, the process and forms will look a little different.

Process

While conversations between supervisors and employees about performance and development should be continuous, our performance evaluation system ensures that a formal summary conversation takes place twice a year, at a minimum.  Conversations allow supervisors and employees to reflect on what has been achieved compared to what was expected and how the employee is performing overall.

For a complete look at the process view the LTD Performance Management Process Document.

The process for administrative employees is outlined in the flowchart below. Information about the process for represented employees will be available in May.

Touch Point Timeline V2

Touch Point Forms

Administrative employees will have an Initial Touch Point meeting with their supervisor in July to set their goals for the following year. At least once during the year, administrative employees will have a Mid-Year Touch Point meeting with their supervisor to review their progress, make adjustments to goals, and have an opportunity to talk about development or other needs for their success. Additional Mid-Year Touch Point meetings can be scheduled throughout the year. For more information about this process, please view the LTD Performance Management Process Document above!

March 17 Update: Welcome

Admin employees should keep an eye out for an invite from their supervisor for their first “Touch Point” in the coming weeks, with an official rollout of the new synchronized annual system for all admin employees July 1.

Union-represented employees should be on the lookout for updated Touch Point documents by May 1. These will replace the existing evaluation documents and will have a stronger focus on development and goals.

Current Action Items

  1. Sign up for information sessions hosted by LTD Human Resources in Litmos from March 27-April 7. Reviewing supervisors are required to complete this training.
  2. Administrative employees, look for an invitation from your supervisor to set up an Initial Touch Point meeting in April to practice the new process. The official cycle will begin on July 1.
