FLEET PROCUREMENT PLAN
Along with the cities of Eugene and Springfield, Lane County, Lane Council of Governments and other public and private community partners, LTD is committed to doing its part to meet regional greenhouse gas reduction goals.
In 2020, the LTD Board of Directors adopted a Climate Action Policy, which establishes the following goals for the transit fleet:
- A 75% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030
- 0% fossil fueled fleet by 2035
We've been hard at work on this initiative, seeking input from experts to decide what kind of buses to purchase to best serve the community over the next 15 years.
The project will take place in two phases:
- Phase 1: We'll explore our options, analyzing which fuels and technologies are available.
- Phase 2: We'll bring these options to life, developing a plan to implement the best options.
