Lane Transit District (LTD) advises motorists that West Eugene EmX construction will restrict the I-105 off-ramp onto West 6th Avenue to one lane both day and night beginning Sunday evening, August 2, 2015. In addition, West 6th Avenue will be restricted by one lane during the day and two lanes at night, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., between Lawrence Street and Blair Blvd. Madison Street will be closed on the north side of West 6th Avenue; however, motorists can access homes and businesses north of the closure via nearby streets. All businesses will remain accessible during the construction.

The construction will widen West 6th Avenue by one lane between Madison and Van Buren Streets to maintain existing traffic flow while adding EmX service to the corridor. The new lane will be built on the south side of West 6th Avenue; it will be used by motorists to turn left block-by-block and by EmX for through-travel. Along the widened roadway, the EmX project also will build new sidewalks, new curb ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and wider plant beds for new street trees and landscaping.

The public may receive West Eugene EmX project updates by visiting weemx.ltd.org or
