Santa Clara Station Construction Postponed

Construction on Lane Transit District’s (LTD) new Santa Clara Station, including paving Green Lane, has been postponed until local air quality improves. Work on the project was initially suspended on Tuesday, Sept. 8, due to smoke from the Holiday Farm Fire burning east of Springfield.
“The health and safety of LTD employees and the District’s contractors comes first,” said Joe McCormack, LTD’s Director of Facilities. “We will return to work on Santa Clara Station and Green Lane when the air quality is determined to be safe for outdoor work and activities.”
LTD is building the new Santa Clara Transit Station on the former Santa Clara School site between Green Lane and Hunsaker Lane in North Eugene. The project is scheduled to be completed in late December 2020.
