LTD Attends Trades Expo At Lane Community College
Lane Transit District will be part of Lane Community College’s Trades Expo and Open House Friday, May 10 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., and Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. As many as 400 area high schoolers are expected to attend the event, held on LCC’s main campus.
Alongside a battery electric bus and a Cummins diesel training engine, LTD employees will offer a look at a career in Fleet Management. The event will feature campus tours and the opportunity to explore trade programs offered at LCC such as aviation, automotive, electrical and diesel tech.
“The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed in 2021 and we need people to do these jobs and be ahead of the curve when it comes to the trades,” said Eric Evers, LTD’s Director of Fleet Management. “There are all kinds of options out there for people to make a great living in these fields.”
The event is free and open to the public, and Spanish interpreters will be available.
