At LTD, our mission of Connecting Our Community is only possible because of the dedicated individuals who go above and beyond every day. Our 2025 Employees of the Month represent the very best of our team — embodying our core values of integrity, respect, innovation, equity, safety, and collaboration.
From ensuring our fleet is road-ready to providing world-class customer service, these team members are the heartbeat of LTD. Join us as we celebrate their hard work, share their stories, and highlight the impact they’ve made on our community this year.

January – Ashley
Ashley was nominated for her consummate professionalism. In early 2024, Ashley was tasked with
hiring 50 new bus operators. She handled the request with her usual grace, humor, collaboration, and integrity — and helped LTD hire 54 new bus operators.

February – Kathleen
Kathleen was nominated for her meticulous leadership of LTD’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund grant process last year. She worked closely with multiple departments and external partners including LCOG and city governments, as well as the facilitation of a STIF Advisory Committee. This led to the development of a collaborative STIF Plan, allocating over $37 million in funding towards transit projects.

March – Wyatt
Wyatt was nominated for demonstrating several of LTD’s core values while assisting two teens who’d gotten stuck at Eugene Station after the last bus. Wyatt helped them get back to the Thurston area. A parent of one of the teens said she was “hugely grateful” to Wyatt and that when your kid is in a tough situation, “this is exactly what you hope happens.”

April – Cindy
Cindy was nominated for the extra attention she gave to a frequent rider recovering from having broken a few ribs. “She is absolutely amazing. I have never once been late for work when riding with her. For two months this fall, I was on the mend and…she gave me a comfortable ride. She has the best skills and attitude.”

May – Margaret
Margaret was nominated after a passenger complimented her attention to safety and a smooth ride. “I am always nervous between LCC and Amazon Station, but I could tell how engaged the driver was with watching the road.” Then in mid-March, Margaret was training a new operator when the student noticed an unaccompanied toddler running down a sidewalk at 5:40 a.m. They worked collaboratively to get the child onboard and warm in Margaret’s LTD jacket, then law enforcement arrived and took over. “The wrong person could’ve picked him up, or he could’ve run into the road,” said Margaret. “It was so fortunate that an LTD bus happened to drive by.”

June – Jaime
Jaime was nominated for actively demonstrating LTD’s core values. In the field, Jaime saw an elderly man fall while trying to navigate a sidewalk. Jaime immediately provided basic first aid and got the man back on his feet. Feeling confident the man could continue safely, Jaime went back to work. His compassion for and dedication to our riders and his co-workers exemplifies what it means to be a public servant.

July – Jake
Jake was nominated for his consistent, rapid response to his work. Any inquiry or any assignment, Jake will tenaciously work to complete the request and never expects accolades. His communication is excellent with our bus operators.

August – Bret
Brett was nominated by a bus operator in need of assistance: “I went off route and called Dispatch to verify. I had a hard time explaining my location and when the call was transferred to Brett, he immediately understood what I needed to do. He, off the top of his head, identified landmarks for the turns, all in the middle of handling Pride-related traffic. Brett’s quick thinking and knowledge, and Elizabeth’s skill on the radio allowed my passenger to make their transfer and get to their destinations at reasonable times.”

September – Garit
Garit was nominated for his quick thinking that saved a fellow colleague from a more severe medical event. A retired operator said, “I was working the Oregon Country Fair with Garit. I had a medical emergency and he took action that actually saved my life. When I suddenly couldn’t breathe, Garit jumped into action and assisted me. The doctor said his actions helped open my airway enough to pass a small clot.”

October – Michael
Michael was nominated for willingly working a late shift to support the OCC Project’s power shutdown. On Sunday, he left church early to assist with repairs to the fence on our River Road property. This despite having worked the night before and expecting guests coming over for a cookout at his home. Mike’s actions reflect his consistent commitment to our team. He is always willing to lend a hand, even when it means adjusting his personal plans. His positive attitude and readiness to step in make him an invaluable part of LTD.

November – Jeff
Jeff was nominated because he’s a hard-working and dedicated employee with integrity. He has stayed late, worked early mornings and weekends, all to keep payroll on schedule. He always maintains excellent customer service.

December – Kasi
Kasi was nominated because in his two years at LTD, he’s had a significant impact on Fleet’s ability to provide safe and reliable vehicles. He’s collaborative, supportive, and consistently puts in overtime to help Fleet stay on top of repair work. Kasi offers a skill set as a body and paint technician, which has doubled our ability to address damaged buses and improved the body and paint repair process. He led the effort to identify and solicit updated paint, body tooling, and equipment. Kasi embodies everything you’d look for in an LTD Fleet Mechanic and more.
