K-12 Students Ride Free!

All K-12 students in Lane County can get their free LTD Student Transit Pass from their school, using either the Umo Mobility smartphone app or tap card. This pass allows students in public, private, charter, and home schools to ride LTD buses for free.

How to Get the Free Student Transit Pass

Passes are issued to students through their school and are valid from September 1 of the current school year to September 30 of the following year, giving year-long access to transit.

If you are a student and your school is not enrolled in the program, please ask your school to email StudentPass@LTD.org to begin the enrollment process.

Got the 1Pass from Willamalane or Eugene Rec? You still need a Student Transit Pass to ride the bus!

Get the free Student Transit Pass at your student’s school to ride the bus for free all summer long. Remember to bring your pass to back-to-school registration so you can renew your pass for the upcoming school year!

The goal of the Student Transit Pass is to help families by reducing transportation costs and the demands on parents to transport their children to school and activities. An additional goal is to create life-long transit users, which reduces the impact of single-occupant vehicles on the environment.

Free student transit fares are made available through a grant to LTD from the State of Oregon’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund (STIF) approved through House Bill 2017.

LTD partners with local Safe Routes to School programs to encourage students to use active and shared transportation for their school commute. Visit Eugene-Springfield Safe Routes to School for more information.
