Accessible Boarding

All LTD buses are designed to make boarding easier. Buses can lower to make the entryway onto the bus closer to the curb for easier boarding.
Accessibility Features
The seats at the front of every bus are reserved for older adults and people with disabilities. Two mobility device securement areas are available on each bus. Each bus operator is trained to assist you with securing your mobility device.
At major stops and transfer points, on-board audio announcements and digital reader boards will alert you of important location information. You can also request the bus operator to let you know when the bus is approaching your stop.
To request a stop, pull the cord along each window, press the marked signal button near the mobility device securement area, or ask the bus operator to stop.
If you use a mobility device and are new to the system or are using a new mobility device, LTD can help you practice boarding at a time and place convenient to you. Call LTD Customer Service to request an appointment at 541-687-5555.
Wait at the bus stop in a place where the bus operator can see you clearly. To request that the ramp be deployed, you can let the operator know once they arrive, or by holding up one hand and making an “L” shape for the driver to see as the bus approaches. Mobility devices have designated securement areas at the front of the bus. The bus operator will help you secure your mobility device.
EmX station platforms are level with the bus, making boarding easier. The bus operator can use the ramp to help bridge the gap between the bus and the platform. Unlike neighborhood buses, EmX buses all feature both forward and rear-facing mobility device securement options. Operators are trained to assist with mobility device securement whenever needed or requested.
Many riders benefit from having securement loops installed on their mobility device, free of charge at any LTD customer service center. This helps the bus operator quickly find the safest and most appropriate place to secure your mobility device, and speeds up the process. Contact Customer Service to get free securement straps.
Low-floor, three-wheeled scooters can be difficult to secure while occupied, and may tip when the bus rounds a corner. LTD asks that if you can transfer to a seat, that you do so for your own safety.
