Fare System Assessment and Strategic Roadmap

LTD is looking at how we currently collect fares and how we can make it better in the future. As technology changes, we want to make sure paying for your ride is easy, accessible, and ready for the years to come. This project will create a clear plan for our future fare systems and investments.

Audible Stop Announcements Pilot

LTD is proposing an Audible Stop Announcements Pilot to evaluate the feasibility, benefits, and operational impacts of audibly announcing all transit stops system-wide using automated technology.

Lane Coordinated Transportation Plan

The Lane Coordinated Public Transit–Human Services Transportation Plan (Coordinated Plan) guides how Lane Transit District (LTD) and community partners coordinate and improve transportation services for older adults, people with disabilities, and others with limited access to transportation in Lane County.

Downtown Eugene Loop

The City of Eugene and LTD began a two-year pilot in fall 2025 to improve bus service in Downtown Eugene. The updated bus route modifies LTD’s Route 1 to serve a larger geographic area, increase frequency to every 30 minutes, and offer trips later into the evening. The new route began on September 7, 2025, and will conclude in summer 2027. At that time, its route and frequency may change depending on how the pilot performs and availability of funding.

Rural Shuttle Pilot

The Rural Lane County Shuttle Pilot will provide prescheduled origin-to-destination transportation for residents of Cottage Grove, Mohawk Valley, and Highway 36 between Mapleton and Deadwood. This is a pilot operating from Winter 2026 to June 30, 2027.
