Bus Roadeo Lassoes Skills & Community
Eugene, Or. (July 22, 2019) – Lane Transit District’s annual Bus Roadeo brought employees together from one end of the bus yard to the other for competition and fun; all fueled by skill, community, pride, and delicious lunch on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
LTD employees ranging from the most experienced bus drivers to staff and administrative leadership showed their skills driving and maneuvering a 40-foot transit bus through an obstacle course in the Glenwood LTD bus yard. All drivers were scored based on their driving precision and the time it took for them to complete the various tests on the obstacle course. The top three place winners in each division were:

Members of the LTD maintenance department participated in teams of three. Each were charged to diagnosis and fix pre-determined problems with an engine, brake system, air conditioning unit, and a door in a set amount of time. Teams were scored on their diagnostic abilities and the solutions they prescribed and implemented to fix the issues with each system.

Winner in the Master Driver category and the top Maintenance team will move on to the international bus roadeo competition in San Antonio, Texas May 2020.
