Umo Electronic Fare Payment

Taking riders where they want to go with the swipe of a mobile device or tap card!

Umo (pronounced "you-mo") is an electronic fare payment system, allowing riders the flexibility to prepay and reload fare value to a mobile device or tap card. Electronic readers are installed on all buses, except EmX, next to the farebox. Once an account is set up and fare added, riders can scan their mobile device or tap card at the electronic reader when boarding. Electronic fare reduces boarding times, improves rider experience, and reduces more than 85,000 non-recyclable bus passes each year.

Umo Mobility Smartphone App

Riders can setup an account by downloading the Umo Mobility app through the Apple app store and Google Play store. Riders can then purchase a pass or add stored value to their account for future fare purchases, all from the convenience of a mobile phone.

Umo Tap Card

TouchPass/Umo co-branded tap cards are available for purchase at the LTD Customer Service Center located at 1080 Willamette Street from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Each reloadable tap card is $3. To register your card, visit UmoPass.com. After registering, riders can purchase a pass or add stored value to their account for future fare purchases.

Getting Started with Umo

Riders should plan to establish an Umo account and purchase fare before boarding the bus. All LTD buses, except EmX, are equipped with an Umo electronic fare reader. When ready to board, open the MyWallet section of your app to display the QR Code. Face the mobile device to the Umo reader to scan purchased fare. When fare is accepted, the reader will display a green light. Riders should keep their device available to show fare inspectors when riding EmX.  When using the tap card, tap it on the lower portion of the reader to pay for fare when boarding. While Umo is a convenient way to pay for fare, LTD will continue to accept cash and day passes from riders.
