Working together, Lane Transit District (LTD) and the community are reimagining a transportation system that is more connected, sustainable, innovative, and equitable—and one that is built on trust, respect, and integrity through thoughtful collaboration. This requires a community outreach strategy that meets the needs of the communities LTD serves.
Community Outreach and Communications Assessment (COCA)
LTD is conducting a Community Outreach and Communications Assessment (COCA) to determine what the District can do to better engage and collaborate with the community. At the end of the assessment, a Community Outreach Framework will be developed. The framework will serve as a foundational guide for how LTD works alongside the public on projects and other LTD initiatives.
Communications & Engagement Survey
We want to hear from you! As one part of this assessment, LTD is conducting a survey to get public input regarding engagement and communication preferences. This is an opportunity to give us critical feedback on how you’d like to receive information and provide input and feedback into LTD’s projects or initiatives. Results from the survey will inform the development of the Community Outreach Framework.
Submit a completed survey for the chance to win a $100 gift card to Fred Meyer. The survey will take no more than five minutes. The survey will be open from September 5, 2023 to October 13, 2023.
Paper surveys are available at LTD’s Customer Service Center located at Eugene Station.
Community Steering Council
As another part of this assessment, LTD has established a Community Steering Council (CSC). The CSC is an ad hoc committee of community members charged with providing input, advice, and recommendations to LTD leadership and staff on the development and implementation of the Community Outreach Framework.
The CSC will have a critical role in shaping how LTD will engage the community to reimagine a transportation system that is more connected, sustainable, innovative, and equitable—and one that is built on trust, respect, and integrity through thoughtful collaboration.
The CSC will meet over approximately six meetings, beginning on September 13, 2023.
LTD put out a call for applicants on June 16, 2023 through a variety of communication channels, including radio, newsletters, social media, and local TV. The application period closed on August 8, 2023. We received 70 applications and were able to invite 20 individuals to participate.
