LTD Raises the Welcome Banner
With the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 just days away, Lane Transit District (LTD) wants visitors and locals to know they are welcome aboard the District’s EmX and fixed-route bus service to travel to and from the track and field meet or to just get around town during the event July 15 to 24.
On Monday, July 11, LTD will hang banners from the arches at the entrances to the Eugene Station that read ”Welcome” in nine languages.
“What better way to welcome people to our community than to do it in their native language,” said Pat Walsh, LTD’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “Through consultation with WCH Oregon22 and with some excellent partners, Eugene Station will be a welcoming beacon for visitors and local riders to know LTD is ready to connect them to the community.”
Designed by local marketing and design firm bell+funk, the banners are eight feet wide by eight feet six inches tall. The banners will stay in place for the next several weeks.
"We’re proud to be part of the effort to welcome the world to Eugene and to help visitors connect to information about transit service, “ said bell+funk Principal Jen Bell. “WCH Oregon22 provided graphic elements representing the Oregon landscape to us, and we added in some buses to create some fun and welcoming banners.”
In addition to the station banners, the windows in the Customer Service Center at the Eugene Station are covered with “Welcome” in a variety of languages. Language translation services for the banners and window treatments was provided by Verbio Group.
