The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded Lane Transit District (LTD) a $76,000 grant to acquire technology to implement a passenger website portal to give those who use RideSource, serving LTD’s paratransit passengers and other community programs, easier access to schedule and manage their trips.
“This FTA grant helps LTD fulfill its mission to our paratransit passengers and other programs served by RideSource to provide people the independence to achieve their goals, creating a more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable community,” said Aurora Jackson, LTD’s general manager. “Once implemented, the web portal will make scheduling trips through RideSource more convenient for passengers to manage their transportation to work, medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other trips to experience independence and stay connected to their community.”
The grant money comes from FTA’s Mobility for All Pilot Program Grants to improve mobility and access to public transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals of low income. In 2019 RideSource coordinated 463,000 trips for passengers in Lane County. Funding for LTD’s web site portal was one of 17 projects in 16 states to receive funding from the federal grant program.
