LTD’s Embery Honored in Mass Transit’s 40 Under 40 Awards
Elyce Embery, LTD Accessible Services Specialist, was recognized by Mass Transit magazine as an emerging transit industry leader in the publication’s 15th annual 40 Under 40 awards.
The magazine unveiled its 2023 Class of 40 Under 40 honorees on Aug. 22, 2023, recognizing individuals across North America who have shown a capacity for innovation, demonstrated leadership and a commitment to making an impact in transit.
“I am proud of the incredible work that is done every day by every single employee at LTD,” Embery said. “Not a single piece of our organization can work without the other, and I feel very fortunate that I am able to contribute in some small part to this amazing team and mission.”
Embery joined the District in 2017 as a customer service representative and has ascended to a leadership role within the organization’s RideSource services, an initiative that addresses vital transportation needs for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Through strategic collaborations with government agencies, non-profits and transportation providers, RideSource offers a consolidated platform for both ADA paratransit and Medicaid non-emergent medical transportation services.

Mass Transit’s 40 Under 40 awards present an annual opportunity to recognize outstanding young professionals in public transit, who will carry the industry into the future. The magazine’s evaluation committee assessed more than 170 nominations for 2023. Nominees were rated on four criteria including job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, and achievement and innovation in his or her field.
