August 1, 2023

Lane Transit District (LTD), the Eugene Public Library, and the Lane Community College Downtown Center have partnered to present the Ride, Read & Rock the Block Party in downtown Eugene on Friday, August 4 from 4-8 p.m.

This free, family-friendly event at the corner of 10th Avenue and Olive Street will feature face painting, bus exploring, button making, book reading, kid-friendly crafts, live remote broadcast from 104.7 KDUK and more. Food and beverages from local food trucks will be available for purchase at the event.

“All ages are welcome at the free Ride, Read & Rock the Block Party,” said LTD Senior Marketing, Communications & Engagement Specialist Cammie Harris. “Families can ride LTD to downtown Eugene, read, create, and celebrate the Eugene Public Library, and rock out with LCC.”

The Ride, Read & Rock the Block Party coincides with Lane Arts Council’s free First Friday ArtWalk event, happening from 5:30-8 p.m. August ArtWalk attendees can catch a free wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus provided by LTD from the following locations:

  • Eugene Station
  • 5th Street Market Alley by the Gordon Hotel
  • 8th & Oak by the Lane County Courthouse
  • 11th & Pearl, formerly Firestone
