Vets and Their Family Members Ride Free to Stand Down

September 25, 2023

On Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, all United States Military Veterans and their families can ride any Lane Transit District bus for free when they tell the bus operator they are headed to Lane County Stand Down at the Lane County Fairgrounds.

Lane County Stand Down is an annual event for Veterans and their families that connects them to organizations that set up temporary shop at the Fairgrounds for the day. Participating organizations offer medical services, personal care services and items, meals and food, Veteran’s benefits, clothes, housing information, and other services.

Military Veterans aged 65 and over are always eligible to ride LTD buses for free with an Honored Rider Pass. Anyone aged 65 years and older can enroll in the Honored Rider Pass program at the Customer Service Center in the Eugene Station. With valid ID, a customer service representative will offer the Honored Rider a tap card or a benefit code for the Umo Mobility smartphone app.

More information about Lane County Stand Down can be found at LaneCountyStandDown.org.

Complete bus schedules are available online.
