Motorists traveling near the intersection of W. Sixth Avenue and Garfield Street will experience restrictions beginning Sunday, March 13, at 7 p.m.
Roadwork installing concrete to improve pavement durability and prepare for EmX service will prevent left turns throughout the intersection of W. Sixth Avenue and Garfield Street. Additionally, the intersection will be reduced to a single lane in both directions on Garfield Street and two lanes on W. Sixth Avenue.
All businesses and property will remain accessible during the construction period, which is expected to begin Sunday and last for two weeks, day and night. To avoid travel delays, motorists who plan to turn left on Garfield Street from W. Sixth Avenue are advised to turn two blocks earlier on Chambers Street. Motorists planning to turn left on W. Sixth Avenue from Garfield Street can detour the intersection by turning right on W. Seventh Avenue and left on Chambers Street, returning to W. Sixth Avenue.
