TSA Extends Mask Requirement

August 27, 2021

Passengers boarding Lane Transit District (LTD) buses will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth through early 2022, according to an announcement from the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).

The TSA has extended the face mask requirements through Jan. 18, 2022, for people traveling on all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, on board commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems, including for any person in public areas of transportation hubs and facilities for ticket purchase, waiting areas, and platforms for boarding and disembarking during travel. Exemptions to the face mask requirement for travelers under the age of two and those with certain disabilities, as well as civil penalty fines, will also remain in place. To learn more bout LTD’s reasonable modification policy, click here.
