Community Leader Elected as LTD Board President

August 4, 2025

Lane Transit District’s (LTD) Board of Directors elected Susan Cox as president during their June meeting. Cox, the Honorary Counsel for the Republic of South Korea for Southern Oregon and a former member of the Oregon Commission on Asian and Pacific Islanders, represents LTD’s Subdistrict 7, Southwest Eugene, Fern Ridge, and Veneta.

“Serving alongside Susan has been an honor,” said former President/current Board Member Gino Grimaldi. “As Board President, I know she'll demonstrate her values of collaboration and compassion with her leadership. She is a national force for excellence, and LTD will remain strong because of her steady hand and unwavering vision.”

LTD’s Board elected Michelle Webber as its Vice President. She represents Subdistrict 2, West Springfield and North Eugene. Webber believes making fiscally sound and citizen-focused decisions is how LTD can best serve the needs of the community with reliable and accessible public transportation. She was appointed to LTD’s Board of Directors in 2021. Webber is a Springfield City Councilor and former member of the Springfield School Board, Springfield Education Foundation, Springfield Library Foundation and the Wildish Theatre. She is also active in the Springfield Rotary Club.

Long-time community leader Peter Knox was elected as the Board’s Treasurer. He represents Subdistrict 5, Central and West Eugene, including the University area and downtown, and the Whiteaker, Jefferson, and West Side neighborhoods. A life-long transit rider who has used different transit systems as an able-bodied person and as a person with mobility disabilities, Knox is an information technology consultant who co-chaired the City of Eugene’s Neighborhood Leaders Council and chaired the Downtown Neighborhood Association and West University Neighborhood.

Lawrence Green, Subdistrict 6, West Eugene/Highway 99, River Road, and Junction City, was elected to serve as the Board’s Secretary. A long-time PeaceHealth employee, Lawrence believes through partnerships with community organizations and businesses, LTD plays a key role in addressing community concerns and opportunities. Lawrence invests his free time in our region’s youth as a coach and mentor through Emerald Kidsports and the YMCA.

Joining Cox, Webber, Knox, and Green on the LTD Board of Directors are Grimaldi, Subdistrict 1, East Springfield to the McKenzie Bridge area; Heather Murphy, Subdistrict 3, Southeast Eugene, Creswell, Cottage Grove, and Lowell; and Kelly Sutherland, Subdistrict 4, North Eugene (east of River Road) and the Coburg areas. Board members can serve two consecutive four-year terms. Each board member represents one of LTD’s seven subdistricts.
