Detours at I-105 and West 6th/7thAvenues Planned to Begin Sunday Night

August 18, 2015

Lane Transit District (LTD) advises motorists that, as part of the West Eugene EmX project, detour signage will guide access to and from I-105 at West 6th and 7th Avenues next week due to road paving. Work is expected to begin Sunday night, August 16, and will continue for several nights between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The detours will vary as paving proceeds along West 7th Avenue between Blair Blvd. and Washington Street. For part of the time, motorists who plan to exit I-105 southbound to Jefferson Street will be guided to turn left onto 7th Avenue, and then turn right on Lawrence Street. At other times, northbound motorists on Washington Street who plan to enter I-105 will be guided to turn right on 7th, and then turn left on Lincoln Street to access the I-105 ramp via West 6th Avenue. Drivers on 7th Avenue will have two lanes open for travel in the paving zone. When done, the paving will provide a smooth surface across West 7th Avenue between Blair Blvd. and Washington Street.

Also planned next week, is paving on West 7th Avenue between Garfield and Chambers Streets, which will reduce travel lanes at night from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. During the paving work, two lanes will remain open to motorists.

Other traffic restrictions associated with West Eugene EmX construction are issued weekly via e-mail, and posted on www.keepusmoving.info. The public may sign up to receive these and other West Eugene EmX project updates by visiting weemx.ltd.org or e-mailing weemx@ltd.org.
